Hope never ending

I'm thankful for hope- that knowing Jesus brings to my life.  If Jesus wasn't apart of my life I would not be able to stand on my own two feet.  I'm so thankful that Jesus is apart of my life.

Romans 15:13
So I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in him.  May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Remembering brings joy

I have noticed that working with the elderly they hold on memories.  At this point in their lives they don't have much to them depending how their bodies are lasting them.  Some may have a routine of how they do things.  Some may not know what to do in the next moment because sadly they have forgotten what had brought them joy (not by choice).

But remembering the past in the stage of life that the elderly I have met is what holds some of them together.  Its the remembering that brings back the memories that brought them so much joy and happiness of the little things in their life.  Remembering when they first met their spouse, their first baby's scraped up knee, the moment they walked their daughter down the isle, the job that they learned and loved to do and were happily devoted to.

Due 32:7
Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will tell you.

Thankful for this day.  Remembering the wonderful days given.  Sharing memories with others-touching lives through stories.  Each day a good day-because you are with each of them and me while I have the honor to care for them.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Please help those in my care, help keep them safe in your embrace.  Help me to care about others as much as you care about them.

How quickly things change....

Things can change so quickly at times.  What do you do when things go from up to down?

Well this morning I made the most out of my drive to work and called a friend and shared a little bit of what was going on and then asked for pray. Then when I got to my client's house I thanked the Lord that she was asleep and then I took a few moments to talk to the Lord and read in His word.

I heard " Rest in me child.  Know that I am God and trust in me"

Then my day unfolded as I helped my client get ready for her doctor visit.  During the next quite moment I began my grocery list for our Thanksgiving Dinner list, knowing now that the "free turkey" that I got from spending 100 bucks at Albertsons was not going to sit there for Christmas after all.

One moment we were planning to head out of town for Thanksgiving and the next moment found me calling the office telling them that I can work after all on those days I had asked off.

God always prepares us for each moment, I'm so thankful.

A moment to myself

I finally have a moment to myself.  I've have been busy adjusting to working and not being around for my family.  I have missed them in the evenings and on the weekends. Everything everyday always feeling rushed....go go and start again.  I now have a schedule with a client that needs someone Monday thru Friday 8a.m. to 4p.m.  Now I will be able to slow down some and have my evenings and weekends with my family again.  Although I have gotten quite handy with the crock pot lately.  I have been feeling a little off balance without going to church, bible study and just having fellowship with others.  I'm in the word every morning so that hasn't changed.  I haven't even had much time to see what is going on in the world of Face book or even write on my blog. With my new schedule I will miss bible study on Tuesday mornings but maybe I can plug back to the group I was going to in the evenings.

We will be going to visit my father in law and his family for Thanksgiving, in Santa Fe.  I'm looking forward to the time off with my family.  In the meantime I will make every moment count and find the joy in all I do.

For God's Plan not Mine

(I wrote this a couple of weeks ago and finally getting to post it)

There has been so much going on lately, more than the day to day stuff.  Things inside of my heart that are hard to find the words to share.  But the feeling is wonderful, joy and peace mixed together.

There are so many things that are around me in life that seem to be working together for God's purpose.  I'm not sure how it will all be used or how to step out with any of it but I feel God is setting things up for me to grow and serve Him in other areas.

At first I sort of felt a little overwhelmed....yes overwhelmed in the idea of what the Lord is working on with me since its all wonderful but its like a dot to dot and I don't know how all the dots get connected to see the picture that he is making.

my job
the ladies tea at church/Deanna
woman that have so much going on like ______someone I met recently
new direction with my blog
thankfullness
my family

My job for instance.  There are a few of my clients that I have that are believers.  There is this one that I look forward to going to help....its almost like going to a bible study.  She is 98 and her faith in the Lord is so strong.  It just pours out of her...

I've enjoyed my job, more than I originally thought.  I enjoy going and helping in any way that I can that will help make things more comfortable for these elderly people.  They each have a story and I get excited to get a glimpse of it.

I was in the right spot at the right time one morning at church to meet a young woman that really needed a friendly face, a hug and some encouragement.  It felt so wonderful to be the one that God used in that moment.  I felt like I was able to return some of what others have given me in my time of need.

Thankfulness--it seems that no matter what is going on around me,  I look for the things to be thankful for.  By doing this it amazingly changes my perspective on things.

God is with me in all that I do.  I have to just keep looking upward while he carries out His plan in my life.

Thank you

It has been fall like weather around here lately.  I've enjoyed it.  It seems that I haven't had much time, or have made the time to write lately.  Things have been going well.  There are your normal ups and downs with life, teenagers, and stuff but the Lord finds a way to bless me everyday.

For some who have followed my blog for a while now, may realize that there has been a huge gap from all the storms in my life to light kind of stuff with my job.  Its funny how things change directions.  The kids, my step son, husband and I are moving forward again.  God is working and I continue to trust in Him alone.

As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I'm enjoying my job.  The kids are adjusting to the odd times in my schedule at times.  When I'm not working I've been focusing on de-cluttering the house.  That is a process in itself but I'm liking the results so far and I think Micah is happy too.

The kids have been busy with their friends.  Karlee has had volley ball the last two months, the season is almost over.  Things should be slowing down some.

Well I'm going to go for now.  This little post was just to say that I'm still here, growing in the Lord.

Comfort Keepers

I'm enjoying my job.  It doesn't really feel like a job.  It's just me serving the elderly.  It's me helping, assisting and caring for others.  I feel blessed by each client I have the opportunity to care for or help.  They have their stories to share however they are able to express them.  Some can share themselves and others through there surroundings, and family members.  I'm thankful for this "job".  Thank you Lord.
