June 8-10th Busy Full & Fun Weekend

Ben is like most men and they don't like to shop, they shop with a mission and get what they need and thats it, they are done.  Friday, Ben actually "shopped", I teased him some about it and laughed.  He wanted a new pair of shorts and some new comfy tennis shoes that he could wear out and not his boots all time, especially when its hot.

We started at Marshalls, I figured he would find what he needed and that would it.  Nope, he didn't like anything they had.  And the picture below of the shoes just wasn't going to happen hehehehee :)
We saw those and couldn't help but laugh and wonder if there is a big guy out there that is looking for shoes just like that lol!  Size 21 anyone?

We went to the mall next, yep that meant we would have to walk around and search for what Ben wanted....Sears had the shorts he wanted and I saved him some money and he got them really cheap thanks to my Sears points account, whatever that is, had some points and used them and his shorts were only 10 bucks!!!

Rack of Room had nice comfy shoes, that he said has changed his whole life and he can now go out and about and do things.  Well if thats all it took I would have bought him shoes :)

A friend and her family came over to my place and we headed to the pool.  Her kids played in the pool while we adults played dominos or bones as she called it.  I have never played dominos like they were meant to be played.  My brother and I would just stand them up and then knock them down in a row or build with them.

I really had no idea what I was doing but I ended up shouting out "bones" and winning!
It was fun!

Ben and Dezi are good frineds.  Dezi misses Ben being around her and her family all the time, but ever since she introduced us.....well what can I say we enjoy being together :)  Dezi is happy for us but misses her friend.

I was super happy to have friends over at my little cozy place, hanging out!  People at my place!!!!
After we left the pool and came back to my apartment, we took out left overs out of the fridge from Kyle's graduation party the weekend before and we all gathered around the table talking and eating.  The kids ended up on the couch with a movie on and we all grabbed some extra chairs and sat outside on my little porch area talking and laughing.

It was a fun Friday night! Great way to end the week and start the weekend!

Well with Ben's new comfy shoes he was determined to find something to do!  He wanted to go do things and not stop all day long!  We ended up at the Blues & Brews!  I had always wanted to go, I knew about it because living in the country club area when married to Micah, we talked about it casually but he was always working and we never went.

Ben was excited, he told me that he loves Blues music and said the event sounded fun and we should go.  So we did!

It was so much fun!  The day was perfect with some wind, which it bearable to sit outside in the sun all day long.

The music was so good, I couldn't help but move and dance in my seat.

We enjoyed a few beers, kettle corn and very expensive lunch but that was expected lol.  I bought us souvenir shirts too.

The day was awesome!

We left around 7:00 p.m. and relaxed on the couch, cuddling watching Netflix.  Tomorrow we were getting up early to drive to Springerville to meet my mom and Larry and Sara, to bring Sara Bear home!  She spent the week in Texas.

Got her back!!!
I missed her!
We all had lunch together at Subway before parting ways and driving back to our homes/states lol.

I was truly blessed with a great weekend, very thankful for the chance to create moments to cherish.

Be Still

On Sunday I was asked by a friend if I could help her out with babysitting her kids.  Her babysitter canceled.  She and her husband were going to go to a Travis Tritt concert.  At the time she contacted me I was sitting in the parking lot in front of Marshalls.  Sara had left with my mom and Larry to go to El Paso for the week.  Kyle was work so I had the day to myself and I was struggling with what to do with myself and all the time.  I was tired but I didn't really feel like sitting at home.  I didn't want to walk around either but it was something to do.

I told my friend let me think about it for a few minutes.  I had to decide if I had the energy to deal with kids.  They are not bad kids, but they have energy and I wasn't sure I wanted to deal with it.  I wasn't doing much of anything and I did have the next day off so I figured why not.  So I texted her back and said I'd do it.  That made her very happy!

We headed to the pool, that was going to be the highlight of the visit and what would keep them busy the longest.  They had so much fun.  They played in the pool for 2 and 1/2 hours!  I sat for 2 1/2 hours doing nothing but watching them play and made sure they were safe.  That was the best!  Yes I enjoyed sitting there outside by the pool (found shade after a while) just watching, resting and taking it all in that was around me.  All the sounds, the people watching, the colors around me, the warm sun.  It was perfect!  I didn't really think of much.  I was just still.  It was so refreshing.  I reminded myself how I need to do that more often....be still.

I ended up thanking my friend.  I told her it offered me time to just be and how nice it was.

Its almost like we need to practice.  Practice at being still.
I want to practice it, to be still more often.

It was also fun watching her kids play.  They got a long so well and the oldest did an awesome job at looking out for her little brother.  I couldn't help but think about when my kids were small and then now how much things have changed and are changing constantly.

I'm a mother of a soon to 21 year old that has been living on her own now for a year.  A mother of a son that is 18, just graduated and his journey is about to begin.  And a mother of a sunshine of a girl that is 15 1/2 in a hurry to get her permit to start driving.  Wow!
I'm truly blessed.  I look forward to what this journey continues to show and teach me and bless me.

Ended May with Family Dinner

We ended the month of May this year with family.  My mom and step dad came to celebrate their grandson's high school graduation.  It was Kyle's choice for dinner so he picked Taverna, it serves Greek type food.  My mom and Larry were good sports about it even if they didn't really know or understand half of what was on the menu.  The conversations were good, there were smiles and laughter, the time was well spent.  It was a nice dinner together.

I'm thankful for the time I get to share with my loved ones.
