Day Trip to Sedona with Sara

On Wednesday the last day of March Sara had the day off and we headed to Sedona for the day.  It was nice and sunny, a little windy but warmer than Flagstaff so it was perfect!

You can't help but love the surroundings with the red rocks and all the shops and people roaming around.

I love my sunshine!

We enjoyed a yummy lunch at a Mexican Restaurant.

The view from where we parked.

She's like mom.....really don't take my picture just go look at the shop you want to....

My first acai bowl.  It was very tasty!

We ended our day with a little painting.

Since I gave my mom the other one I needed one for me.  It came out very different but its okay I like it.

My panda....Sara's will not be shown lol......she gave up and didn't want to paint anymore and the poor panda suffered. Hahahahaha

Sara's abstract, its cool.
(but yesterday as she was laying on her bed looking at all the paintings she realized that she forgot the blue guy's upper lip.....so funny.  I told her that she could add it and she said no that makes it even more abstract!  Hahahahaha :)

The Last Weekend in March

Yep you guessed it! Ben and I went to Eager for the last weekend in March to go visit my mom and Larry.

I love sitting in my mom's living in the morning, drinking coffee, can't help but feel at home, peaceful and loved.

I love capturing moments in Black and White, the pic tells a story in its self without words.

I love watching my little momma paint.

Love

Ben found a new friend at the furniture store in Show Low hahahaha

We enjoyed a yummy lunch!

Mom's barber shop open for business....

Another night of painting with a few additions, cheese and crackers and....

music and dancing...my mom can not be still when their is music on.

She had to get that goofy girl painting out of her system hahahaha :)

Mom liked it so I gave it to her to hang on her wall.

It was fun paining abstract (I painted the two faces and the guitar)

My handsome in his new shirt!

I love this man so much!

It was a great weekend. We always have fun going to my mom's.  Larry loves to talk to Ben and mom and I get to spend time together.

Kyle Time

On Friday morning Kyle texted me and asked if I would going to town today, he wanted his sheets that I had gotten him for his birthday.  I wasn't sure at the moment what I was going to do.  I talked with Sara and we were both tired from our night of painting with Karlee.  We decided to not lay around all day and go to town.  It turned out that Kyle wasn't at work, apparently he had not worked since Monday.  When it comes to spending time with Kyle, its a sure thing when you involve food in the idea.

Sara and I go to pick up Kyle and then we head to Some Burros for lunch.  We enjoyed good conversation, in fact I was surprised and proud. Kyle has realized that he would like to get out a little more and meet people and not just go home and play video games.  He has always been more comfortable with being alone. He also said that he wants to get a small part time job like bussing tables or being in the back washing dishes just so that he can earn a little extra money for gas and groceries to help get him out of the rut he is in with his finances.  He needs to make a little more money.  It all sounded great to me and I think it will help him in several ways with feeling more connected to the world, meeting new people, making a little extra money and just getting out of his rut.

After lunch we went to the pet store together so that he could buy Lily a harness to make walking her easier on her and whoever takes her for walks.  Once he was done with that he wanted to go back home.  It was a short time with him but I made the most of it. I love spending time with my son.  I love it when he wants to talk and share things with me.

Sara and I went on our way to do a few more things before we headed home.

Kyle sent these pics later in the day of Lily, she is such a sweet dog.

Girls Night

The girls and I got together Thursday night to enjoy some time together. We went to my favorite place in Williams, to South Rims Wine & Beer Garage.  We enjoyed a yummy dinner and good conversation. Afterwards Sara drove to Safeway, since Karlee and I had a few drinks.  At Safeway we grabbed a few snacks to have for later in the evening then we headed home.  Karlee spent the night and we enjoyed painting and then watched a movie before calling it a night.  I loved every second of it!

Got comfy and ready to paint.

A Weekend of Gratefulness

3-17-21 This morning I sit here reflecting on the weekend and feeling very grateful. On Saturday morning we headed to Phoenix to meet up with a nice couple that Susan and Ben are connected to through her marriage to Ben's step dad, named Don. We met up at the Cracker Barrel. We enjoyed a nice lunch and conversation. After everyone said their good-byes and took a few pictures we went or separate ways.  Ben drove us over Dan's house (Susan's boyfriend) to visit him a little bit before heading back home.  We left Dan's around 3:30 p.m. When we had left Parks that morning it was a cloudy cold morning with promise of snow later in the day.  While we were in Phoenix, around 1:30 or so I got a called from Sara letting me know she was off work and also sharing how yucky the weather was at that time in Flagstaff.

We proceed down the road.  Ben asked his mom to check the traffic ahead on her phone so we would know if there was any issues to prepare for ahead as we were driving home.  Susan announced that there were a couple of traffic issues with accidents at two different spots along the way. Susan said that her phone was saying that it would take us extra time to get home.  We decide to stop at McDonalds at Camp Verde.  There were people moving around as if they had been sitting in a car for a long time after dealing with bad roads and weather. A man had shared how bad the weather was and to be prepared to sit and wait and to take it slow and easy as we continue home.  We grabbed some food and got back in the truck and heading on down the road.

We did end up running into bad weather, bad roads, stuck cars and big trucks.  It took us 7 hours to get home.  We were home at 10:30 p.m.  It turned out to be a long day.....

This pic shows both side coming and going from Flagstaff with long lines of cars backed up.

Now if you thought Saturday was exciting.....lets just say Sunday morning was going to get even more eventful. Sara left the house to head to work.  She had to be at work by 9:00 a.m. I was sitting on the couch drinking my cup of coffee and Ben had one of his shows on T.V.  Sara hadn't been gone very long, my phone rings and it is Sara screaming and crying uncontrollably and all I could understand was road, and tree.  As I was trying to listen to her, Ben could hear her through the phone across the room and he went right away to put on jeans and boots (out of his comfy sweats) and go start his truck to warm up and get the ice off of the windshield.  I managed to get from Sara that she slide off the road.  I went to go throw on a sweatshirt over my T-shirt and sweats and put on my jacket and snow boots and head out to the truck.  Ben called her and got a better idea of where she was, she said she was okay.  I texted her and told her to stay calm and that we were coming.

When we got there a highway patrol was there and also a tow truck, someone must of seen from a distance and called.  As soon as Ben parked on the side of the road I was out as fast as I could safely walk to her in the snow that covered the ground.  She was walking towards me to.  I grabbed her and held her close to me tightly and didn't let go for a few what seems like a long time but it was only a few seconds and then I pulled away just enough to look at her and make sure she was alright.  She was shook up, cold but she was alright otherwise.  Ben had gone over to the tow truck driver.  Ben told Sara and I to get in the truck and wait for him. The tow truck driver pulled her car out.

We are very thankful that it wasn't worse.  If it wasn't for the big pile of snow on the ground she could have flipped and rolled.  She had been wearing her granddaddy's jacket and said that she felt like she had been watched over and taken care of.  I said yes she was by God and both of her grand pa's. :)

It was a long and tiring weekend but we rested and we thanked God for keeping all of us safe and out of harms way.  So very thankful my Sara was okay.
