Today was a wonderful day despite the wind and the gloomy cloudy type of day. I enjoyed sitting next to my husband worshiping the Lord to perfectly picked song with just the right words. We went home briefly to return to the church to attend a special ceremony for a friend of ours and her family. Two of their boys became eagle scouts. It was a great ceremony and I'm glad that we went.
We hadn't been home much today, I was looking forward to going home and relaxing for awhile before figuring out dinner for my family. I checked my voice mail. I had missed a call from work and almost dreaded returning the call. I called back to see what was up, a shift needed to be covered at the last minute. I adore the clients and it had been a while since I've visited with them, they have a special place in my heart, its never easy for me to turn them down and not help them.
I sort of dragged my feet some only because I was ready to relax, not that I wouldn't enjoy the visit with this sweet sweet God loving couple. I changed my shirt and put on comfortable shoes and out the door I went.
I was soon relaxed and helping this couple with their evening routine. Part of that routine involves me reading a chapter to them from the old and new testament. This couple loves God, it glows all around them. I read a chapter out of Mark for them. It talked of all sorts of miracles that Jesus performed and how many people were still so unbelieving.
Let's just say that I felt a gently nudge from the Lord reassuring me that he can and will change the hearts of the ones that we think are such a mess and can't be helped. I have a person in my life that I pray for and at times I fall short too and wonder how is God going to help this person. I just need to trust and stop "wondering" and just know that He will do it.
Thank you Lord for reminding me of just how powerful you are and will be in my life and the lives of others around me.
