Bittersweet

All day long I've tried to come up with a word that would describe the feeling of my day today.  The only word that hangs on in the background is Bittersweet.  Although I'm leaning more to the negative side of the word than the sweet part to be honest.

I've been praying for so long for truth to come out and for circumstance to change in regards to my step son, praying that he would get caught and then a disciplinary action would take place to get his attention.

Now that it seems that my prayers have been heard and answered on some level....why do I have mixed emotions and my heart aches?

Details are still unknown to the new development in the situation and daily living around my step-son and family.....

All I know to do right now is to lean on God, he knows best and has everything worked out for the good of all involved beyond our understanding.  All I can do is rejoice in the peace and freedom that has come with it and then pray for the Holy Spirit to take hold of it all.

Bittersweet......

Embracing

Embracing who I am and what I look like.

Embracing the fact that my oldest daughter is growing up way to fast.....she now has her permit and I have been embracing the idea of her driving.

Embracing peace that surpasses all understanding despite the circumstances in my life

Embracing the Holy Spirit and his work in my life.

God's Work Not Mine

Sometimes God doesn't change your situation because He is trying to change your heart.

God has been working in my life lately.  I can see His hand in my life with my family.   A peace beyond all understanding has taken place in my heart.  Things haven't changed as I'd like them too around here but God is equipping me with what I need so that I can honor Him in the things that I do while He works in and around me.

A thankful heart :)

God brings peace

God gives answers in the middle of chaos.  He also gives you the wisdom and strength to hear and know his answers.  Along with the peace that surpasses all understanding.  Therefore moving forward is the only way to go, with eyes looking upward, and heart open to Him.  Its not as hard as one would think it to be.

Thank you

Making the most

This week I made the most out of a busy work schedule.  It was spring break for the kids.  I wanted to spend time with them and do something with them while they were off.  In between work I found time to take them individually and do something with each of them.  It was really nice, I love my kids and I'm so thankful that God has loaned them to me.

Sara and I went to see a movie together.  We saw The Great and Powerful Oz.  It was pretty good.

Karlee and I went to Campus Coffee Bean for a yummy tea drink and then next door to the Flame Broiler for lunch.  I had never been to the Flame Broiler, very yummy food!

Kyle and I went to lunch.  He is so much quieter,  than my girls.  I really need to ask God to help me on how to communicate with him better.

I guess you could say I made the most out of a beautiful spring day this week too, a friend of mine and I went on a hike.  It was so nice to walk along in the great and glorious outdoors and talk about whatever come up.

I have found that life can be busy, yes and it will at times not really stop but if I slow things down a bit and focus on enjoying each and every moment, life can be so enjoyable despite the fast paced movement around me.

Thank you Lord for the opportunities this week that I had with my children and the many blessings of joy that came with each.

A new friend

Today I started my day with a hike and a new friend.  It was great!  The conversation was easy and refreshing and uplifting.  I think she and I will become good hiking buddies :)  I'm thankful that God has placed a new friend in my path.  She works in the office of the company I work for and is leaving soon to start her own day care in her home.

We talked and huffed and puffed out of breath and talked and talked more.  It was nice.  With all the talking I didn't take my camera out once.......
